1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, or other device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners about how users interact with their sites.
In addition to cookies, we use similar technologies such as web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs), local storage (HTML5 localStorage and sessionStorage), and device fingerprinting technologies. These technologies serve similar purposes to cookies and are collectively referred to as 'cookies' in this Cookie Policy.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on the EarnHive platform, why we use them, and how you can manage your cookie preferences.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
We use the following categories of cookies on the Platform:
Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for the Platform to function properly. They enable core functionality such as user authentication, session management, account security, and fraud prevention. You cannot opt out of these cookies without disabling your ability to use the Platform.
Functional Cookies: These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your language preference, display settings, referral codes, and previously completed surveys or offers. While not strictly necessary, they improve your user experience.
Analytics and Performance Cookies: These cookies collect information about how visitors use the Platform, including which pages are visited most often, where visitors come from, and whether they encounter errors. We use this information to improve Platform performance, identify issues, and understand user behavior. We use Google Analytics and other analytics services for this purpose.
Advertising and Marketing Cookies: These cookies track your activity across websites to deliver personalized advertisements and measure campaign effectiveness. They may be set by us or by third-party advertising networks. These cookies remember that you visited the Platform and share this information with advertisers.
3. Specific Cookies We Set
The Platform uses the following specific cookies and local storage items:
- Authentication cookies: Session tokens and auth state (necessary for login and account security)
- Session management: User session identifiers and CSRF protection tokens
- Referral tracking: earnhive_ref cookie to track referral codes for new user signups
- Locale preference: Stores your selected language (en, es, ru) for internationalization
- Theme preference: Dark mode or light mode selection for UI display
- Consent tracking: Cookie consent banner preferences (when applicable)
- Device fingerprinting: Fingerprint.js Pro generates and stores device identifiers for fraud prevention (see Privacy Policy for details)
- Local storage: Survey completion history, offer interaction timestamps, UI state persistence
4. Third-Party Cookies
In addition to our own cookies, third-party services integrated into the Platform may set cookies on your device. These include:
Survey Providers: CPX Research sets cookies to track survey eligibility, prevent duplicate completions, and personalize survey recommendations.
Offer providers may set cookies to track interactions, verify completions, and prevent fraud.
Analytics Services: Google Analytics sets cookies to track page views, session duration, traffic sources, and user demographics.
Fraud Prevention Services: Fingerprint.js Pro sets cookies and uses browser fingerprinting to generate unique device identifiers for multi-account detection and fraud prevention.
Payment Processors: Cryptocurrency payment services may set cookies during withdrawal processes.
We do not control third-party cookies. For information about how these third parties use cookies, please refer to their respective privacy policies and cookie policies.
5. Managing Cookie Preferences
You have several options for managing cookies:
Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Instructions for managing cookies in popular browsers:
Platform Cookie Controls: Where required by law, we provide a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies when you first visit the Platform.
Opt-Out Tools: For analytics cookies, you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using essential features of the Platform, including logging in and completing surveys or offers. Disabling functional or analytics cookies may result in a degraded user experience.
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and website data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies
6. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers include a 'Do Not Track' (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. There is currently no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT signals.
At this time, the Platform does not respond to Do Not Track signals or similar mechanisms. However, you can manage your cookie preferences as described in Section 5 above.
We will continue to monitor developments in DNT technology and may update our practices in the future if a standard emerges.
7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our cookie usage, technologies, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this Cookie Policy.
If we make material changes to how we use cookies, we may provide additional notice (such as a notice on the Platform or an email notification). We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about our cookie practices.
Your continued use of the Platform after changes to this Cookie Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated Cookie Policy.
